DonePix Privacy Policy
This policy covers DonePix: Job Site Photo Report for iOS, published by Sang Cao.
The short version
DonePix collects nothing. There is no account to create, no server we run, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app. Your jobs and your photos stay on your iPhone, and the only copies that leave it are the ones you choose to send and — if you switch it on — the copy in your own iCloud.
What stays on your device
- Jobs — the client name, the address, your notes and the checklist.
- Photos you take or import, filed under a job as Before, Progress or After, with the time and place each one was taken.
- Estimates and invoices — their line items, prices, tax names and rates, discount, notes, payment instructions, and whether each one is sent or paid — plus the saved items offered as you type.
- Your company details — business name, phone, email, licence number, tax registration number, logo and the title printed on your reports.
- Your settings — photo quality, the stamp template and its size, and whether iCloud sync is on.
Deleting a photo, a job or the app itself removes them from the iPhone.
Location
If you allow it, DonePix records where each photo was taken and uses it to fill in the job address and the date-and-place stamp — the part that makes the photo worth something in a dispute. Two things to know about it:
- The coordinate is stored with that photo, on your device. It is not sent to us, because there is no us to send it to.
- To turn a coordinate into a street address, the app asks Apple’s geocoding service, which is part of iOS. That request carries the coordinate and nothing about you or your jobs. Apple’s privacy policy covers it.
Refusing location permission leaves everything else working: photos are still filed, stamped with the date and time, and printed into reports. Only the address is missing. You can change your mind at any time in the iPhone’s Settings app, under DonePix.
iCloud sync
Sync is off until you turn it on, in Settings → Photo Storage inside the app.
With it on, your jobs, photos, estimates and invoices are copied into your own private iCloud database so your other iPhone or iPad can see them. That copy belongs to your Apple Account: it counts against your iCloud storage, we have no access to it, and no account of ours is involved. Apple’s iCloud privacy terms apply to it.
Turning sync off stops new copies going up; what is already in iCloud stays there until you delete it, from any of your devices or from iCloud settings.
Photos in your photo library
Also off until you turn it on. With it on, DonePix saves a stamped copy of each job photo into a “DonePix” album in the iPhone’s Photos app, so the photos show up where you already look for photos. That needs permission to add to and manage your library; those copies are yours, in your library, and the app’s Clean Up tool can remove them again.
The app never reads the rest of your photo library. Importing an existing photo into a job uses the system picker, which hands DonePix only the photo you pick.
Reports, estimates and invoices you send
Each is a PDF built on your iPhone. When you press Send, iOS hands it to whatever you choose — Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, a file app — and from that point the report is in that service’s hands, under their terms. It does not pass through anything of ours.
Reports, estimates and invoices made with the free version carry a small “Made with DonePix” line in the page footer. That is a printed line, nothing more: it reports nothing back and contains nothing about you beyond the company details you typed yourself.
Subscriptions
DonePix Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app one thing in return: whether this Apple Account has an active subscription. No payment details, card number or Apple Account identifier ever reaches us, and there is no account of ours to attach them to. The record of what you bought lives with Apple, under their terms, and you manage or cancel it in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
Children
DonePix is a tool for working tradespeople. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
